Just curious about the performance of this lever and those like it that are advertised to do the same thing. I'm running 80% springs on one bike and 60% on the other and would like the input of those who have used one of these. Is it just situated to where it has a different lever action with less force to apply the same amount of pressure or what? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has seen these and wondered...

It kind of looks like the stock ones, (could be wrong though) The only differance is just crome color.

My two cents.

Vic, while I havent tried that lever. I tried a device that went inline and used a pully type system to make it easier. It worked maybe 5% better than without it. Then I spent some time lubing the crap out of it one day, making sure I got all the sand and what not out of it, and wouldnt you know it, it worked almost like new. I took out the device, sighed over the lost 50 quid, and now I make sure to keep the cable nice, clean and lubed!

I run the woods 60% on mine. I also went to the magura hydralic clutch kit. I can pull the clutch lever in easily with 2 fingers.

When I bought mine in 05 it was 241 bucks from Parker Yamaha. I just looked and it's now only 208.

Thanks Larry. That Magura sounds like the trick but it's a little out of my price range. I have seen them cheaper on freebay from time to time though. I got one of those cable adapters that forces your cleaner and lube down into the cable. Fixing to go try it on for size. Might as well do them all and get that over with...

Ace,
Check out Donal's repy in regards to the RTC clutch lever RTC

The only way I can see that these levers are reducing pull is by having a larger radius from the lever/percy pivot point out to where the clutch cable attaches to the lever.

Thanks engineer. His link to the article is outdated and Google didn't help much either. Looks like they've moved their business to the wonderful land of freebay. Desrcription doesn't really explain HOW it works but from reading what everyone has to say about all of the aftermarket perchs that claim to reduce pull no one is really displeased with them.
This one doesn't seem to make any claims over the one that is BIN for $18 so who knows? Looks nicer though, a little bling factor to it. I may spring for the $18 one and update everyone after a weekend in the dunes with it.
It's not these two but one of the ones I found while researching had three different positions on the lever that you could place the lug to give you adjustability on the tension. I'll try and locate it again...

The $18 one.

RTC mentioned in the article.

Im running an RTC clutch lever. Works really well with the stock clutch. Not so good with an hpr clutch. With it running in reduction mode the pull length is just a tad bit short for the HPR. Im working on getting the RTC to work with a longer clutch arm. Cant seem to get enough pull length to get them to work together right. If I could get more pull out of it the lever pull would be around 8lbs, way lighter than stock.
