? Chinese quad won't start ?
#1
Alright here's the story, I am down in Mexico for a job assignment. I purchased a no name Chinese 110cc Lifan powered quad for my girlfriend's son's birthday. Today my mother and my girlfriend picked it up the guy started it drove it onto the back of my gf's truck they brought it home and now they can't get it to turn over. I will be back home in a week but I would like to have them be able to use it before then. The quad did not come with any instructions. and my GF and mother did not pay attention to the guy giving the instructions. I have told them about the kill swith on the handlbars and the key but without looking at it I cannot tell them what they need to do to start it.
My question is what would be the start up procedure for this thing, in terms that would be easy for a mechanically inept person to understand?

1) turn key on
2) make sure brake lever is pressed!!
3) flip kill switch to run
4) make sure gas valve is open
5) pull choke
6) start
Once running close choke within a minute or 2... I'm guessing this is a fully automatic atv??? If not.. Make sure it's in netural.... And make sure battery is charged... Did I forget anything??

This is what I have been told
1. Key was on
2. Brake lever was depressed
3. Kill Switch was set to run
4. Gas valve doesn't have to do with my problem as it won't turn over as in they cannot get the starter to turn over
Thank you for your reply though. I need to know if there are any common things other than the obvious handlebar kill switch, key, and brake lever that would keep this atv from turning the starter.
