Default After Market Tires For My New Grizzly???

Anyone know of some sweet After Market tires that I could get on my new Grizzly before I go pick it up? I could have them put them on it before I get it. I want something that are awesome for mud but also okay for me to ride on the roads with. A friend of mine told me the stock ones arent the greatest. Any suggestions?

Cant have it all.
Anything "awesome" in mud aint going to be very good on hardpack.
You need to figure out how you will be using it, meaning percentage of time in deep mud -vs- hardpack -vs- trails ect. Once you get that figured out there are a lot of knowlegable folks on here that can make some very good recommendations.

I would recommend staying with the stock ones for the time being. Yes, the stock Grizz tires aren't the best, but no sense spending the extra money when you're already getting brand new tires. Plus, I have a strong feeling that most of the riding you'll be doing will be on hard pack and trails (cause i'll be on the same ones). Might as well use what you have already paid for.

I have ITP mudlites and they've been great. The ride isn't that bad, and they're 10 times better than the stock Dunlops.

I disagree. The grizzly tires, unless it's the 400? which comes with ITP's, are horrible. They do nothing well and if you can pay thousands for a machine, $300-600 for tires isn't much more. I've seen a Polaris 500 and 700 and they both came with some good stockers (Goodyear Rawhides??). In that case I would use'em up first...if you can.

I keep going back and forth between the ITP Mud Lite and the Terra Cross, but still can't make a decision.

You can pick up a set of mudlites for around $250-300. Either choice you make, tires are the best upgrade you can make. Just watch out for the oversize tires ripping the axels out of your grizz.

I currently have the Mudlite XL in 26", they are pretty good overall, not bad in mud, hard pack, and the trails. They seem to be wearing pretty fast for me, I have the older compound ( softer than the new compound). A friend just got new Kenda Executioners on his AC 700 and they seem to work well in the mud and hard pack as well. The lugs on them thangs are huge, but ride pretty good on the trail. They also clean themselves well, beware of those who ride behind them Kenda's, it throws mud clods the size of softballs. Might check 'em out see what you think. BTW he has 26's and they measure 26" tall. Mudlites are little small for 26's.

Ok, first I wouldn't get Mudlites because they aren't really mud tires, there more like trail tires (they don't clean out). There not much better than stock.

If I was you I would get ITP 598's or Mudbugs. If you plan to ride more in the mud get the Mudbugs. Both have a smooth ride on hardpack and perform awesome in the muddiest conditions, and awesome trail tires. They can keep up with outlaws, mudzilla's, and vampires.

Also, very important these two don't wear like mudlites do. They will last you a very long time.

I have an 03 660 Grizz. I dumped my stock Dunlops right away. I went to ITPs Radial Hole Shots. They rode great on the trails and had good traction in the dirt & snow. They were prone to leak though. I had to cut a couple of trips short because of leaks. I recently bought Maxxis Bighorn radials. They ride smooth on the trails and grip like crazy on the rocks & hills. Much better in the mud than the Hole shots but not a mud tire. Wish I would have bought them right away. You won't go wrong with the bighorns.
