Default Oil in Clutch Case 750 BF

just wondering if anyone could help out. a friend and i went out riding afew days ago and about 45 mins into the ride he was about to blow by me. He has a 600 Griz, yet i've never losed to him before, it felt like my power was gone, my engine would rev, but no gain in anything, the whole way home i could feel as if my belt was slipping, so i replaced it, when i did that i found some oil covering my inside of the clutch case. where could it be commin from and wats the steps the fix it? i'm always checking my coolant and oils. just dont understand wat happened. i'm never working on the bike myself, it always goes into the dealer... any suggestions

ps-dont tell anyone about me losing to the 600 lol

There are two seals and one o-ring behind the clutches, the o-ring is the most common one to leak. Remove the front clutch, behind it you will see a round disk with a threaded hole in it,screw a bolt into the hole to remove the disk, install a new o-ring,put a little oil on the o-ring and reinstall. The other places are the seals were the shafts come out of the case.

hey asnowmobiler thanks for getting back to me, you mentioned thats where most leaks come from, seems to leak once the bike heats up? does this make sense or would i be replacing the wrong seal? how easy are the seals off of the shafts to replace? i just dont want to replace something without knowing for sure where it is coming from, however i took the cover off cleaned it all out with brake cleaner and let it run for about 4 hours and couldnt find a drip anywhere so... not sure y but i just want to narrow this down alil bit more before i replace things, also is that o-ring a common size or something to order, but just to verify, behind both shafts there are seals and an o-ring or just a seal, or just o-rings? sorry to pick at this, just wanted to get some knowledge out of this, thanks so very much for the input tho....

Once you take the clutches off you should be able to see were the oil is coming from. I don't know what size the o-ring is but I'm sure you can find something that will work at a hardware store. It's been awhile since I looked at the seals on the shafts but I would think they come out like every other seal on the quad, just poke with a pic and pull it out or poke a hole in it and use a slide hammer to pop it out. You should be able to replace the seals and one o-ring in 10min.
