Noobie with a question about the 420 ES.
#1
Greetings-
I guess I'm the "Noobie of the Day". I'm on the verge of purchasing my 1st ATV. It will be used primarily for trail riding. I really like the new 420 4x4 ES. I am aware of the electrical connectors getting wet and affecting the shifting and think I can deal with that. Is there anything else I should know about this critter before pulling the trigger?
TIA,

There is currently a flood of ES problem posts here on the board, and it's more complicated than just some wet wires. So, it's buyer beware on that one. I highly suggest the foot shifter instead......
This is a great machine! Handling is sharp and agile, it's fast, and has descent suspension. The fuel injection takes care of all the altitude changes (I usually ride from 4,000 to over 10,000 ft....all in one days ride!). Best value for your dollar of any quad there is!
I did try to put rims and big tires on mine, and it didn't like that. Completely ruined the machines sweet handling characteristics. Went back to the stock tires, and all is well.

Thanks for the kind words Honeyduck96.
The truth is that even though today is the first time I have posted here, I have been lurking here for a short while to learn what I could. I expect I'll have a question about this thing going forward. I have not heard any reasons to bag on getting the 420, so I'll propbably take the plunge tomorrow. 100Proof,
I just rode the 420 4x4 ES last week and had no troubles with it deep in soupy mudd holes. The only problem that I had with it is it just seemed a bit small for me.( 6'5" 205)
I just think that first gear is geared way too low. You will most likely never use it trail riding. Good luck with your purchase. My friend just bought two of them. Green and Yellow.
