I'm gonna drill 2 (small) holes on each side of the seal (in the seal) and put a sheet metal screw in each hole (drive them in just a few turns) (protect the shaft treads) and pry it out with a crows foot (Nail Remover)

I've done this b-4 with success (removing old seals)

Then work the new seal onto the shaft using Lithium grease and lightly tap the seal into place.

A few years back I used self tapping sheet metal screws on an electric drill/driver and put one in. . . then got a cat's claw and pulled the seal out. Pushed a new one in and all was good.

f650dotFAQ had the suggestion. . . worked just fine!

You can also put a slide hammer on the screws. I've done my Jeep oil seals like this with good success.
