Polishing the cases...........

I have a makita that I fasten to a collapsable table and several polishing wheels that I buy from a trucker supply store.......

This is my Raptor. I polished the clutch & stator Covers. I had the rest done by someone else when the motor was freshin up.

Try and keep it away from water, especially SALT water. Salt water will eat raw aluminum alive.......

It looks nice (for Now) we'll see how long it lasts....
Good luck. I hope this helps

Did you spray it with a clear coat at all or no?

No clear coat..... I'll just pull the motor and use the "Mothers Power Ball" on it.
It cleans right up.......

I heard you can soak the cases in carb cleaner to get the paint off then take the power ball to it. I havent tried it yet.

Thanks for the tips Big D when I get a chance I may take off like my oil cover for the filter and see how she polishes up and holds up...The only prob for me might be water because I ride the woods and it may rust up, but I will prob give her a tr and see how it holds up...Thanks again.

I would recomend a bench grinder with polishing wheels. You can put more pressure on the piece and the wheel. The bench grinder will also give you more RPM's and more efficient polishing.

Keith.....
I use the power ball for finishing work. When I polish I use my Makita and it turns like 15000 rpm with very little bog (that baby rips and ya better be hanging on to whatever your polishing)

Fat Holly.....
I have a bench grinder set-up also. I use it for the smaller stuff and finishing polish, But for the big stuff the makita (attached to my work table) is the way to go.

So if I used a dremel or something and got a polishing pad for it that should do and then finish her off with a table grinder with a buffing pad right.
