What's wrong with my rancher 420 ES/4x4?
#1
I just bought a 2007 rancher 420 ES/4x4. After only 50 or so miles, I started having problems shifting into reverse. After I ride for 5 to 10 minutes, I try to shift into reverse the neutral light blinks and I can't down shift. I have to turn the atv off and back on. Sometimes that doesn't even work. I took it back to the dealer, but when I did it was working fine. They said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. But it is still doing the same thing. Anybody know what the problem may be?

Both problems mentioned above should show up on your dealers HDS tester.
The first post by RooDawgg especially since the syatem flashed codes. It should come up as a stored DTC when chacked with the pocket tester. Unless the operator of the tester does not know what they are doing.

Your unit sounds like it has a bad speed sensor, it may not show a DTC on your dealers tester since a shift is being completed. I have seen this before and found speed sensor as the culperate.

I could look on line but I am in the middle of lifting the old F-250's suspention
Check your clutch adjustment for the shift problem
