YFZ 450 ?
#2
I have had an '04 YFZ for the past 3 yrs. I don't race at all; I trail ride. Granted we ride pretty hard on the trails, but I don't always have it pinned and I've never had any problems. Even when we just putz around on the trails got a day it runs great.
Obviously if you are looking for something to ride around the yard or in the back-40 this probably isn't the best choice of machine b/c it doesn't really have a good "slow" gear.
Just my thoughts/experience.

Riding slow won't hurt it at all unless you're constantly grabbing the clutch in to slow yourself down..That's the only area where it would become a problem. A YFZ will run perfectly fine at slower speeds..Like stated above, if you're gonna ride in your back yard, I wouldn't advise a 450.
