There is no TORS system on the 660 or any four stroke yamaha atv that I am aware of, just a parking brake and reverse rev limiter.

There is a parking brake limiter, a reverse rev limiter and a redline rev limiter. Yamaha doesn't call anything on the 660R "T.O.R.S." like on the banshee.

You now know for a fact that you have been screwed over by your dealer or they just let you call it TORS when it was something else. Not sure what you'd be "synching" other than the slides in the carbs which shouldn't have been a problem unless they were bad from the factory or messed with after the fact.

The 660 uses signals to the CDI to invoke a rev limiter. These come from the parking brake switch, neutral switch and reverse switch. If either the parking brake is on or reverse is engaged, the CDI limits RPM's. Also, if you are in neutral, and rev for some length of time, the limiter kicks in.

This is similar, i suppose, to the Banshee's and Blaster's Throttle Override System (TORS). However, on the 660 Rappy it's not called that.

If the dealer tells you that you have a problem with the TORS, he may be lazy in his speech, using vernacular that he's familiar with from other bikes. However, you need to know which circuit is causing the problem: park brake, neutral or reverse. All are easy to fix, as long as you know which one is causing the problem.

If you wish to elimante one or more, it is also easy, although I wouldn't eliminate the neutral... You'd always have to pull your clutch to start. Reverse and Park brake are simple. Which do you want to eliminate?

Splice into the reverse switch wire, and ground it.
