Warrior stalling going down hills

I went riding today and I am pretty new to this. My warrior would stall on steep downhills. Even if the clutch was pulled in it would want to stall right near the bottom. Also, if I am in gear and going slower than the gear is usually used for should the bike stall? Thanks

I can happen..if you above 2nd gear going down a steep hill,My bile dont have a manual clutch,but on steep downhills,I put it in neutral or 1st,and get on the rear brake(sometimes fronts also,if I feel like i'm in trouble lol )That way at the bottom you are not in a high gear starting from a low speed,that will make the machine bog and maybe stall..You can try to set your idle screw a little higher when riding a lot of steep hills..But if your manual clutch is not enough to keep the machine running on a down hill,adjust your idle screw..

Yeah that is what I figured. It is weird though. I will set my idle to a position and then after riding I will stick it in neutral and it is idling way faster than I had set it. Anyone know why this is happening?

It will idle better(faster) as the engine gets hot,make sure you are adjusting your choke as the engine warms up,also that will cause you to idle high if your choke is pulled out..takes a little playing with,but you can find its sweet spot where it idles at low rpm's without stalling with a hot engine and no choke,but when cold,use a little choke to warm it up,you shoulden't need to mess with the idle screw that often..

Hmm, I don't touch the choke ever. Should I be when it is cold? Also, if it idles fast is that okay. I mean its not screaming or anything but it doesn't purr like a cat. I would feel better having it idle faster. Seems to not stall as much.

Yes, idling a tad on the fast side won't hurt anything..Just don't overdue it.
Like he said, you need to adjust it when the motor is warmed up and find the perfect spot so that it isn't too cold to begin with and it's not too warm once warmed up..Should be in the middle somewhere.

Wait a second! ON the fuel switch I noticed there is a On, Off, and Res position. I have never really payed attention if I was setting it to Reserve or On. I just noticed there is an arrow and On and Reserve are different positions. LOL I think I rode all day on reserve. Would this have caused some stalling type issues. LOL

Well I pulled the spark plug and it was completly black. A dry black. I noticed the previous owner had installed a D7EA plug and not the D8EA plug. So, I went and got a new plug with the correct heat range. I also checked and made sure my air/fuel screw was adjusted to the proper 2 turns out. I suspect that the plug was causing me some issues.
