I have to wonder about something. Where we ride, there is a gas station and Burger King at the trailhead. We stopped for gas and I filled it right up to the lip. When we rode over to BK to get dinner it took a couple minutes to get off the quads and put things away. I then noticed a small puddle right under the front differential. I got down and gave it a close look and it felt like gas. I gave it a good smell (I have sinus problems and can't smell or taste too much right now) and it seemed to smell like gas. I noticed that a clear tube that comes up by the steering stem had liquid in it which I think is probably the gas tank vent. It seemed to me that I filled it up too much and the vent let it leak out down the steering stem area. I checked my front diff. fluid the next day and it was fine, so I am almost 100% sure I overfilled the tank. We rode for another ten miles or so before loading them on the trailer. This may be what happened to your quad. You might want to ask at your dealer about it. I could see this causing a possible engine or battery started fire. It only takes a small spark to get the gas fumes going.

Do you have a winch on your machine? There is a recall out on the Warn winch contactors (4 pole) I believe. It was because of a fire hazard, but I don't know if it was during use or just in general. Makes me a little worried as I have to get mine done yet .. haven't had a chance to bring it to the dealer to have it checked.
