polaris RZR question
#2
I do not know what you mean by "on command" awd but the rzr is the same as the sportsman with a 2wd/awd switch which, when the awd is enabled, utilizes the same central Hilliard system as the spts. However there is no ADC available as an option at this time as I understand it. Hope this answered your question.

what i meant by on command is that you can press a button and choose to go ino awd not like the ranger that decides for you, but polarises AWD system sucks! i saw my freind with his stealth black 500 h.o sportsman and it started with 3wd(in the mud) then eventully came to 4wd and when you let go of the throttle and it goes back to 3wd then eventuylly starts turnning the 4th wheel, they need diff lock button....

Actually the awd system is not bad and if your friend's 500 is a stealth model then it has the centralized Hilliard. As such it can never be 3 wheel drive. It is either two wheel drive or awd drive. The front diff in the pol senses when the rear wheel spins 1/5 of a turn and the front locks in. I have actually locked the front by spinning the rear backwards and put it in forward and the steering is a bear. Honda is the only one left that is a three wheel drive. The problem with locking the fronts like yamaha is that the steering is way hard. That is why Yammie put the power steering on the new griz. And that is why Polaris put the 07 ADC system in to only lock below 15 mph when descending steep hills. So to say the system sucks as compared to a mechanical lock is not really fair when the full lock has its own probs.

well xler8ion the yamaha also has limited slip diff lock 4wd thats why i think its alot better you can choose 2wd 4wd limited slip or fully locked 4wd diff lock, and caper his was brand new and its the limited edtion stealth black, which i would think had more quality put into it and ive also seen it on his brothers 500 efi sportsman.....

Yeah ok you have a 200cc sport 2wd "off brand" and you are telling us about your quality opinion of awd ute quads, right. By the way ask the cat guys about their awd diff gears and how they hold up. Better yet come back when you have more than 27 posts and give us some more informed feedback.
