Default What to get

Hi all

I have an 01 warrior that im selling right now because its not exactly what i want at the moment. i was hoping you guys/gals could help me decide.

I go riding back at a sand pit so what im looking for is a quad that is mainly good in sand but also good on dirt trails too. im looking for something light so i could hit a few jumps, but not huge xgame style jumps, if you know what i mean. i was looking into a 400ex because they seem really light and seem like they would handle well in sand/dirt. btw the sand im talking about is not soft sand, its more dirt i guess. I was looking at some raptor reviews but they seem a little too heavy. my budget is about 2000-2100.

if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. thanks in advanced!

The Warrior isn't all that heavy, it just handles heavy (I know I rode one for years!). The 400's at around 400 pounds aren't that significantly lighter, but the 450's at around 350 pounds are.

But, your budget is limited, so a used 400EX is going to be a good choice.

I have busted out some big air on the EX! I absolutely prefer it to the Z for jumping. My Z used to always come off the ramp nose low, where the EX flies straight as an arrow. I even prefer jumping the EX to jumping the 450R.

The Shee is way old school by today's standards. The frame never was that great, even for its day. It just really never handled well, but everybody overlooked that because of the thrilling 2-stroke powerband.

I ride with a bunch of old timers who will probably never sell their old Shees, but funny thing is they are all slowly buying new generation 4-strokes (with outstanding suspension) and that is what they usually end up riding......

reconranger is right everyone is moving to the 4 strokes but not me at least till i'm done with my blaster then i'm probably going to get a yfz 450 but anyway i'd have to tell u a blaster with mods and all there just as fast as an EX and they jump pretty nicely there light , fast and nimble its great for sand and nice on the trails at least this is the way it is for me well good luck on ur choice

400ex is a great jumper and probably the best machine you are going to find in your budget......

i say banshee all the way man!! i picked mine up for 2025 and couldnt be happier. sure the susp. isnt great but neither is that of the 400 ex. plus you have (arguably) the biggest after market available to hop it up. it jumps all right but ull need some after market front shox if you wanna get serious.

but the best thing about it is i love being able to hang with the 450 guys...
