Default TB runs rough

i cleaned my k&n filter on my 02 trailblazer for the 1st time this past weekend and when i went to take it for a ride it was running worse than it was running before. i dont seem to have much power around 1/4-1/2 throttle but once i get passed that it takes off fast and runs fine. it sounds like it has to much gas or something wich would explain why i seem to be using twice as much gas as i used to. my trailblazer has been sitting a while since ive been away at school could my carb just need a good cleaning from sitting around? my mods are fmf pipe, hps clutch kit and the k&n filter any help is appreciated thanks

did you put too much oil on the k&n when you reinstalled it after you cleaned it. too much oil will make it run rich and the oppisit if not enough.

The plug isnt wet but it is black and i could have put to much oil on the filter now that you mention that. i mean i have never cleaned/oiled it before. i was told while applying it to let the oil soak in for about a half hour then check for areas that arent red from the oil so i went back over the filter again because it was spotty looking. do i take it out reclean and oil the filter or is there a way get some of the oil off

If the filter was spotty looking after you oiled it, you don't have too much oil unless you really saturated it the second time.
I suspect the idle jet is plugged. It has really small holes and doesn't take much to plug up after sitting.
If you didn't have power from mid to full throttle, it would be the main jet.
Check both since you'll have to take the float bowl off anyway.

Old fashioned term for an old guy. The pilot jet is part of the idle circuit. The pilot screw or air screw is on the outside of the carb. The pilot jet is usually located next to the main jet and you need a small flat or standard screwdriver to remove it.
Hope that helps.
Drlang should be out there to assist me.
