So, I just bought this brand new a month ago. Has about 12 hours on it. Well, my daughter left the key on, now it has 83 hours. My dealer says nothing can be done about it. Any suggestions??

There was another similar post the other day...same issue...key got left on and it showed a bunch of hours. I think that the conclusion was that there wasn't any way to reset it.......????????

 

Well if you wanted to spend the money you could put a new computer on it. I don't how much they are but I imagine it will be pretty expensive.

 

As long as you know deep down in your heart it really only has 12 hr on it thats all that matters.

 

I know, but, I'm **** about that kind of thing. I was thinking about trying to trace the wiring and unhook it for 60 hours or so.

There is a processor chip in the instrument cluster. It is called the CPU. I don't believe you will be able to only disable the hours. If you do, the mileage will be off as the data comes from the CPU on the circuit board for both hours and miles.
