Valve question on 400ex

Valve question on 400ex
I upgraded today and picked up a 04' 400ex w/416 kit.
Motor:
10:8:1 JE Piston (416cc)
Stage 1 Hotcam
Cometic FlexSteel Gaskets
FMF Powerbomb Header
Two Brother's M-7 Slip-On (one ride on it)
The engine was just rebuilt and they guy told me to check the valves after a few tanks of full. Can anyone help me on this procedure.
