I have a 00 TBlazer, and plan on going down 2 teeth on the rear sprocket. My original chain is just about outa adjustment, so I imagine with the smaller rear sprocket there won't be any adjustment left. Now, would it be a good idea to file some of the pins out and remove a few links to take up some slack, or would I be better off buying a new chain? The chain looks and works good, but its all stretched out. Oh, and going down a few teeth on the rear will give me more of a top speed, right? Thanks....

If the chain is good put the new sproket on an see how many links to take out. If you go down 2 teeth it will incress the top end but also reduce the take off power. I wouldn't suggest it unless you have a aftermarket pipe.
