Default me again...another problem 07 wolverine

Ok, its me again, the guy who flipped 07 wolverine 4 times after 3 hours, ANYWAY i was screwing around with it again and i went to take of the tip of the exhaust. There is 3 bolts that hold the tip and the spark arrestor on. the top on came out fine, and for whatever reason the bottom left came out hard and bent, and the bottom right just flat out broke off.....so now i am stuck with my wolvie without a tip or spark arrestor in it. It is really loud now (i kind of like it ) but the real question i have is having the spark arrestor out going to cause any problems with the bike? i would not think it would so i thought i would just ask, i am still breaking it in (according to yamaha manual) i have 143 miles out of the 200 to break it it, just don't want to mess it up.

Thanks!

P.S. This thing is a mud machine, take hills crazy! i am 6'1 ando 230 pounds and this little animal will take me anywhere

Let me get this straight..... You flipped the quad 3x in 4hrs and you "just don't want to mess it up".....

Spark arrester out won't hurt the machine, unless of course a spark sets a grass fire and you flip your quad into it....

Take it easy bud lol..Were you the guy that never rode before this machine??It may look like a fun toy,but a beginner rider 6'1 230 or not can kill you in a instant..Yamaha screws and bolts are made of tin-foil,you need to use extreme caution when removing them..Yes you do need the spark arrestor,If the DEC catch you without one in fire season, they will ream you a new one..You may need to drill and tap,not hard..Or take it back to Yamaha and tell them their screws blow and fix it..You have the one month full warranty..But PLEASE buy the manual and learn how to ride that thing before you get hurt..Join a ATV club..

If you do leave it out... You need to re-jet, otherwise you run the risk of running too lean...

Ok, hold on...everyone i am not a novice when it comes to quads. I just want to straighten this out. First day i got it, very excited (i have riden one before btw) i went to go ride, well about three hours into the ride is started to break in a little bit so i decided to take on some bigger hills. I went up a hill (that i had gone up many a time in my 07 grizzly). I had a little speed and when i crested the hill the front wheels were off of the ground. I looked down at the decent an noticed a huge about 2-3 foot deep hole that had been dug that was not there previously. (as stated before i had been up that hill earlier that week). I slammed on the rear brake to bring the front wheels down and swerved left....almost made it. I just clipped the right front tire on the edge of the hole and it slammed the wheels right and me left, me and the quad went over and it rolled 4 times (barrel roll) down the hill. Now keep in mind, i have been up this hill, I am not a novice, hole was newly dug (hell could of been that day) and dammit....i almost missed it...ha ha. Just wanted to clear some things up!

hehe we all had those "ohh **** moments"But like I said,if it not a month old yet take it to the dealer and make them fix it..Just tell them you had mud in there you needed to get out..Yamaha screws....Well what can I say,the suck..Just wait till you need to remove carb screws what a nightmare..Have them tell you or give you an extra go to the hardware store match them up and toss those Yamaha screws in the garbage,do the same with your carb screws..

And yes the green police(DEC) will ticket you without a spark arrestor on public or even not so public lands..

One thing I hate are those deep rut holes that come out of know where(bone jaring)

Well instead of worrying about all that drilling and tapping just buy a new pipe (gytr or HMF)

I love my GYTR and for the fit and finish I dont think that it is a bad price at 299.00 otd at my local (good buddy discount) dealership. You can get one for about the same price online shipped from california. I have not gotten to compare them side by side so I could not tell you for sure which one is better. But I have never had a problem with any of my stuff from Yamaha directly so I trust them.
