I have a 2006 sportsman 800 and the heat from my exhaust is melting my plastic? I emailed polaris but got no response.

 

Do a search. Someone recently posted on updated part #'s for this problem. Dealer should fix for sure if under warranty. Thought they fixed that on 06 models with bigger shield and more heat tape. Mine has not melted any as of yet.

 

you know i looked at the 07' 800's heat sheild and its 2 pieces that doesnt look much differnt then my 06. it does look like the heat sheilf foil tape has insultion added w/ it to help keep the heat down.
