Default please help

well i bought a 1988 honda trx300fw and totally rebuilt it and when i start it up it will run fine but when i hit the throttle it will bog down and go dead, there is no vaccum leak and i was just wondering if anyone could help me so i dont have to take it to the honda shop and pay their high prices to work on it. thanks

Does it have the airbox lid on it? My Wolverine had the same trouble after a carb rebuild. I had put the snorkle back on the airbox which restricted the air intake. Try pulling the airbox lid. If it helps, it's a jetting issue/intake issue. Air filter might be dirty, too. Good luck.

thanks but i tried that and all most everything else but it still wont run right, i guess i am just goin to have to spend the $250 FOR A NEW CARB! thanks though, i have been messing with that thing all weekend.

Hi , Borrow a carb .... almost any carb .... run it just long enough to prove or disprove the bad carb theory . You may very well save some dollars in the process ... hopefully . Good luck !!

Sounds like a fault in the reverse rev limiter.
