Default 2003 Honda 250ex Idle/Running Issues

Hello !

Im trying to help my sister get her 250ex running again. Recently I got a new spark plug for it, a new battery. It still wouldn't run so I took apart the carb to clean it out.

I cleaned it thoroughly and it does start and run now but as soon as i let off on the gas it dies. I can keep it running as long as i want but as soon as I let off it dies.

Any ideas?

Do you have any aftermarket intake/exhaust orientated products on it? If so it needs to be rejetted. If thats not the case maybe you should just get a carb rebuild kit....Its only about $16 or $17 at your honda dealer. I just got one for my little bros 70...

You still have a clogged pilot or slow jet.
Honda does not offer a "carb rebuild kit" you have to buy the parts individually.
You will need to remove the slow jet and reclean it. Be very careful running an object through that jet, its very east to destroy it.
