Who has the fastest 800 sportsman on here??

Let me start by saying I didn't come to this forum to talk trash or start B.S. With that being said, I've got a 700 prairie with a Fundy power sports built 730. It's got 11.5:1 compression, race cams, porting, 36mm carbs, and clutch work. My bike runs very low 9s in the 1/8th and low to mid 5s in 300' on the sand.
I have no idea what all he has done to his 800 but I do know he's running a stock chasis setup and has some nitrous on it. We have not seen each other bikes run and don't know what the other person runs.
He said he has done everything you can do to it. I don't know it he's a serious racer or not but he also said you can't put enough money into a Kawasaki to run with the 800 Polaris. I had to laugh at that one.
I'm looking for some guys with hopped up 800s so I can try and get an idea as to what they run on the track or what caliber of bikes they can run with.
Thanks for any help

i dont why anyone would sink alot of money to make a utility machine ie.sportsman, brute force(prairie), or any of the overweight bikes. but no matter, the only person ive heard of on here w/ a hoppedup sportsman is sportsman70003 who has a 03 700 w/ a turbo, nitro. on his. stock 800's only run around 65 to 68 flat out. as far as take off my buds bf750 will take me out of the hole because its lower geared w/out a problem. these are stockers though.

I totally agree. Why anyone would dump a bunch of money to make a machine do something its not ment to do is beyond me. Its not like Im going to put a lift kit on my 250R so I can go through the mud too.

Guess you forgot to mention your on N2O as well with your boondockers ? If its a built HPD 800 then Id say its the Popo. If its bolt ons it "could" go either way. Not trying to ruffle your feathers here, why dont you just run him and video it. Instead of "getting" an idea of what one would run. I guess you dont want someone to hurt your feelings if you lost the race ? Im sure you have lost plenty of races being a serious racer you are. So why worry about what might out run you and just crack them back. If either one is going to need a tissue when its done. Or someone's panties are twisted then I guess you both should have left them stock. Drag racing is fun, too many people take it too seriously these days. Instead of thinking do I have a chance, why not say here I am lets find out and giggle when its over...

I'm not on Nitrous anymore. I ran that boon kit when I still had a stock motor. It's not gonna hurt my feelings to get outrun. Hell I get beat by something every time I go to the track LOL I love drag racing because it's fun. I'm not one to talk alotta trash and talk down to others because I don't think they measure up. As far as building up a big ute to drag I guess you would have to say it's different strokes for different folkes. Everyone does something that others think is a little odd. If I can actually get him to show then I'll post how the race turns out.

your right fastboy, differnt strokes. no harm done in asking any good questions on here. as far as who is faster i use the old true saying, as its not what your driving but who spent the most money lol. good luck and have fun, be safe and lets us know.

ATV Magazine did and article on a 76 hp sp 800 with nitrous in the July 2007 issue. Kit made by BikeMan Performance (BMP) included cam and other goodies. It reached 64.6 lb-ft torque at peak hp at 6200 rpm, but didn't give a top speed.

I gotta agree with the different strokes statement because I drag race a baja bug,,,LOL
I say run'em,,, there's no shame in getting beat. Heck, he's got 60 cc's on you. However, I don't buy into the "There's no replacement for displacement" theory. It's all about power to weight ratio and vehicle set-up (spinning looks cool but it won't win the race).

i agree that the set up is very important and in racing its one of the most important thing to get the power to the ground and traction. but however the no replacement for displacement is a fact not fiction. now im refering to all things being fairly even in the weight area as well as set up. one of the reasons that the 800,besides its only a 760, is dead last in speed and take off as its the heaviest out there. so agaist a outlander or what ever the weight to power is way off. of course this is my opinion as always lol.

Exactly,,, it's all about weight to power ratio & getting that power "hooked" to the ground. I've got a little bitty 2.3L na engine in my bug and I'm smokin' big 5.0L mustangs. And, I'm not talking a car length or 2 either,,, it's more like nearly 2 seconds No offense meant to the mustang owners because I also own one of those. I think we agree,,, just stated our opinion a little differently
O' and the reason that I don't agree with the no replacement for displacement thing is,,, adding forced induction and or nitrous is a very good replacement for displacement,,, LOL. I could easily be in the 10 second quarter mile bracket with the addition of a turbo. That adds nothing to displacement but gives a major "boost" to the hp to weight ratio,, pun intended.
