Polaris TB Is Dead For Good. Scrambler 500 Might Be In My Future. Need Help!
#1
Hey guys. Long time no talk. My problematic '96 TB has finally bit the dust for good. It hasn't run in 5 months. I've fixed a ton of things on it, but could not get it right, so I brought it to the dealer. They said that the piston bearing must have gone bad because it has turned the cyliner froma circle to an oval. Long story short is it need some big bucks put into it that I don't want to deal with. I have $2100 into it and I'm done wasting my money. The dealer gave me three options. One was pay them $175 for the work they have done and take back the quad and part it out. One was to give them the quad and call it a wash. Finally, the one that I like best, they would consider the $175 a loss and give me $500 for it for a trade in on something else. That's what I like! I don't even want to bring the POS home! They have a very nice 2001 Polaris Scarmbler 500 for sale. They sold it new and have all the records on it. I'm pretty sure it's 2WD. They wanted $3400 for it, but said they would give it to me for $2800 with my trade and they took $100 off of it. Is this a good deal? I would pay the difference in cash, so I might have some wiggling room, but these guys have been really good to me, so I don't want to be too much of a welfare case. I have wanted a Scrambler for so long and know how good they are. What do you guys think? Thanks!

$3400 seems like alot for a 2001 2wd scrammy, i just picked up a 05 scrammy 4x4 here in south dakota for a price of 3850 only had 500 miles on it. i would check around abit before ya make that decision, i ran across a website that has some good deals on quads its www.racingjunk.com i would definately give that a look. happy shopping and i am positive you will love your new scrammy, great quad!!!

the local polaris dealer here has a '05 scrambler 500 for $4800, so your price isn't that bad.. I just got my '03 sportsman 700 for $3500. I'd shop around but in my area that price seems good. I test drove the scrambler and it was worlds different than my uncles TB 250.
