Default Sportsman 500 weep hole leak

I have a 2000 Sportsman 500 that is leaking coolant from the weep hole under the waterpump. I thought it may be the seal so I replaced it but still have same problems. Any ideas?????

It sounds like you will have to replace the water pump seal again to stop the leak. I'm not sure how accurate the following statement is, but I have heard that 25% or more of the seals are faulty when new. And, if you replace it yourself rather than having it installed by the dealer and you find that the new seal leaks, Polaris will say it was faulty installation and not give a replacement part. That is what I have been told in the past, and may or may not be true today. I had one replaced years ago when I had a serious leak, but I have been riding with an intermittent leak for years, and find it easier just to add some coolant occasionally.

after ready further, I think the seal I need to replace is the mechanical seal. I just replaced the seal washer which did not fix problem. Thanks.
