Warrior or 400ex?

Well im looking to buy this 2003 Yamaha warrior from a friends uncle for around 1500. I was also looking into buy a 2002 Honda 400ex for around 2400. I'm kind of stumped on which would suit what i ride like. My current quad is a little Kawasaki Bayou 250. The 350 seems like a big step because of all the gearing, but the 400ex brings more power. In my area there is alot of powerline trails rocks and dead ends. Also some mud and little ponds. Not sure what to get please help. Thanks.

pipe, air filter, and of course re-jet. those are the cheapest 3 thing you can do to make your bike faster. everything else gets into the engine and get expencive and less reliable. oh also you chould drop a tooth on gearing up front. this will give you less top speed but you will get going alot faster.

look into a 2001 raptor rear shock, i am 235 and this shock is perfect.. it soaks up the bumps and helps with the weight.. the stock warrior shock is a tad soft for someone over 180lbs.. i'd suggest a pipe and maybe cut airbox lid or clampon filter and no lid.

Yea i agree the warrior is the better pick its a much better all around bike and its good at the rock climbing and going through water...add ons should be a pro circuit pipe (i heard are the best for warriors) do not switch the head pipe though that is the best head pipe u will find, new air filter, skid plate, and maybe you could get a new rear shock (if you jump it) I hope i helped.Bye

$1,500 sounds like a good deal for a 2003 Warrior. Mine is a 1997 and I paid $1,200 for it - with a bent axle! A 400Ex is a good quad, and very reliable if they haven't been ragged out too bad. If you don't care for blazing fast speeds I would say get the Warrior.
