Banshee vs 350 raptor vs yfz 450
#1
I'm going to be buying my first bike early next month I can't decide what I want. I know I want a yamaha and those are the bikes I would consider buying. My old man owns a 350 banshee stock except for a wide front end.
Im leaning towards the banshee at the moment because its comfortable to ride, they look tough and because if I break it my old man could fix it haha. Also the only 2 ATVs I have rode are banshees and a kawasaki V-force(WOW there fast) from what I have read and from what my friends have told me I should buy a yfz 450.
I want a bike which is durable, comfortable and not to exspensive. I'm hoping not to spend more then $10 000 AUD. I'm not looking for the fastest thing out there either. Just something I could have fun on after all it is my first bike. I want to keep up with my friends though who all have 2 wheel bikes for example the rmz 450 . I'm hoping not to spend to much on the bike after I buy it. I might buy some pipes but thats it.
I would mostly be riding on dunes or just in the aussy outback. I want to hear your guys opinions so it can help my make my final decision

for dune riding you can't get much better than a banshee. If there will be any trail riding involved I may lean toward the Raptor since it has reverse. If you're into jumping or stunting I would go for the 450 (also great in the dunes). All depends on the riding you are doing.

First off, skip the 350. It has an old, outdated engine that is heavy as a brick. It is slow as well. I would ride the light little new Raptor 250 before I would pick the 350.
Since you have ridden the Shee, I assume you know that it isn't the hot setup for the trail. It's all rev with a hit in the middle, so trail riding is a pain with all that clutch slipping that is required in any type of slow/technical terrain. The Shee's day has come and gone.....
So, that leaves the 450! I don't think it will dissapoint. It is fast and light. Doesn't have reverse, but it is so light that turning it around by hand is a breeze. It likes to rev, so it isn't my personal choice for a tight/technical trail quad (I'll take the 400EX there), but of the three you have picked it is the best all-arounder.
