Default DS 650 trouble

I just got a used Ds 650 and it runs wierd at higher Rms in every gear. In the higher rpm it seems to cut out or boggle. I never felt any thing like it and not sure if thats how the rev limiter is or I need to go up on the main jet or there is just something wrong with ignition

Is it completly stock, or are the modifications that have been made to it? What size main jet is in there now, and what clip is the needle position in?

The only mod is a big gun exhaust and the main jet is stock 165. the air filter is clean. when you hit the rev limiter does it make the bike cut out in a weird way

Yep, it sounds like you are just bouncing off the rev limiter. When you hit it, it cuts all the power for about half a second, so if you don't let off, you just keep reving and cutting out.... It sounds like you don't have a tach on yours, but you are going to want to shift a bit earlier then where the limiter is anyway as you are already losing power when you hit it.....

Defiantly change the Main Jet to at least 170 or 175. I am bumping up to a 180 to see if it resolved my bike running hot issue.

Also remember the stock rev limiter kicks in about 7400 to 7600 depending on the year.
