more power for my 06 rubicon
#1
I've had my rubicon for about a year now, love it. I just would like to have a little more power. I ride with all kinds of big bores and would like to be more in the league. Haven't done anything to the motor or exhaust. What can I do? Has any body done a port and polish to a rubi?

I ran with a guy this weekend that had a port and polish done, with a big bore on an rubicon . He says he has 25% more HP. I think that's what I'm going to do. If anybody else has any suggestions for me would love hear from you.

I just took my friends 06' for a short ride today ( I own a 01' ) and I must say your LUCKY to have a '06 as the "sportyness" feel is much much more presant on the 06 than my older but trusty 2001 that cannot drift sideways on gravel due to full time 4wd.
Anyway, all you need to due to get 10-15% more power is get a Uni airfilter, better (but quite) exahust and drill the airbox lid to get more air into and out of the engine, then go one or two steps richer on the main, pilot plus lower the needle clip one notch- but dont forget to buy a second airbox lid for the sand or mud rides
Big bore kits are great but $$ is always a factor in cost vs fun factor.
I also ride with 600CC quads and the low center of gravity and strait axle on the rubicon will allow you to rage past them in corrners and steep terrain

Changing the air filter didn't make any difference on my freind's 06. Waste of money.
