What would you all recommend in a "used" ATV that would be used only a few weeks of the year during hunting seasons? I do know I will want 4 wheel drive and the machine will need enough power to haul out elk quarters. For the most part, trails will be ridden but the trails can be quite steep and rock strewn. I don't want to buy new considering the amount of use it will receive.

Rocky areas and i assume high altitude - look for a independent rear suspension to save your back and possibly fuel injection if you don't want to rejet. the latter may be hard to find used as its fairly new. hear lots of good things about the zuki king quad 450.
