Son Outgrowing Polaris 90 scrambler now what ?
#1
My son is riding his 90 to its fullest potential and now wants a bigger atv . He would like to stay fully automatic but I told him he may have to go to a shifter atv . Which he has ridden dirtbikes before but likes the get on it an go theory .
He is 10 years old and 5'1" tall and 110 lbs.
What do you think would foot the bill ?
I am a Honda man myself but I guess that doesn't really matter all that much.
So whatever.
Thanks,
D.

There really aren't any great "in between" quads, and they outgrow these very quickly anyway so it doesn't make much economic sense. I got a Suzuki 160 for my daughter, and she outgrew it so quickly that with my son we just went from the 90 right on to the 250.
He is still kind of small and light, but I think you could go to a 250 if he is willing to be cautious. The Honda 250EX is nice because of the sport clutch, but it is shaft drive and really not a full on sport machine (or Recon if you were thinking ute???). The new Yamaha Raptor 250 looks like it will be a nice little machine, but I haven't ridden one yet. It has a full on left hand manual clutch...like a sport quad should have!
Don't get me started on automatics! Tell him they are for beginners and little girls...that should do the trick....

I've had the honda 250ex, great quad but after looking at the Yamaha 250 I'd have to go yamaha. Give it a good looking over and see what you think.

I should have mentioned , I do not have the funds right now to go new . So, I am going to have to go used . And as fast as he is growing, I predict in a couple of years I will be buying another bigger atv .
Thanks,
D.
