Default Opinion on Storage rack bags

I'd like to purchase a quality storage bag for the rear rack and narrowed it down to three choices:

TAMARACK - TITAN-LOUNGER-BAG

MAD DOG - PRO ATV PADDED BOTTOM BAG

KOLPIN - Matrix Seat Bag

The only one I saw in person is the Mad Dog bag for $80 at my local Tractor Supply Co.

Any opinions on any of the above bags would be a great help. I know that some folks have issues with zippers breaking but all of these bags offer storm flaps over them except for the Lounger, this one has magnets and buckles and no zippers, nice! Although it is the most expensive of the three.

Thanks in advance!

I have the mad dog bag... and love it... Everyone of my friends that have a canvas bag has a mad dog... they work great... they're durable... and I've never had a problem with the zippers. They clean up quick w/ the `ol pressure washer too...

I have a Mad Dog zipperless in camo, and it's been great. They make several different ones. Mine has detachable compartments on the front, on either side of the seat. I think up from there are ones that have water bottle holders.

Tamarack makes a zipperless one that has a gun carrier built into the top, and I think if I would have known about that one...

I was interested about the Cocoon brand. I was noticed them on net for around $110. I'm now skeptic though, when I found the identical product marketed under the name Mountaineer Power Sports for about $60 (Ebay). The two companies both offer all the same models. I'm assuming that Cocoon has some agreement with Mountaineer but what throws me off is the price difference.

At this point, I'll probably get the Mag Dog bag since I got to check it out in a local store and it seems pretty well built for $78. ($69 at Cabela's)

Thanks for the input

It's hard to tell in the photos, but those don't look quite as nice as the Mad Dog or Tamarack that have more of a boxed cover that laches over the storage compartments.

A buddy of mine had straps tear off his cheaper bag pretty easily, and I got fed up with dust in the zipper of mine. The Mad Dog has the strap sewn in across the bottom of the bag (as opposed to sewn to a single point), and I'm sure the Tamarack bag is also very rugged.

I'd recommend either brand, but whatever you do spend the $$$ to go zipperless.

the pix above do look very close. regarding the top box lid, the cacoon bag has this as well...the top lid fits overlaps the bag ~ 4"-5". I purchased my at a gander mountain store - not sure if you have one close. Regarding durability - check this out...also look at the pix of the bag on right - click on it to supersize you can kinda see the the lid that i was explaining. http://atvsource.com/articles/...solutions_atv_bags.htm

OMG! GO WITH THE TAMARACK! LIKE JeffinTD says--spend the "extra" money (?) and go zipperless! With the Tamarack Lounger you don't have to "stuff" it to get it to hold it's shape because it already has plastic inserts in the side walls. You can actually use it to rest your arms on cuz the lounger arms aren't flopping off to the side!! And the industrial magnets seal out water and dust without zippers!! Did you ever try opening a zipper when it has mud in it....not fun. The Tamarack Titan Lounger also has a lifetime warranty...so literally...it will be the last lounger you'll ever need to buy!! Happy riding!!
