Default Warrior Engine Replaced - No Spark

Hi Everyone,
I have a 2001 warrior that was running great up until a few weeks ago when the chain popped and cracked the case into the transmission. I got a new motor and just got it in the frame to see if it's okay. All the original wiring, etc. is the same and I even took my old stator side cover (with stator attached) and installed it on the new motor.

Now, it will crank but I have no spark. Any ideas? Seems the only different part would be the flywheel - could that cause a no spark situation? Everything else is original so I'm pretty confident the rest should be okay.

I'm stumped on this one.

Thanks.

yeah the flywheels I believe are different.. are the connectors the same on the stator, if there not then it's a very good possiblity that you'll have to change flywheels.

Yes, the connectors for the stator are different. That's why I put my old one on. The new motor has a round plug but my old one had a square/rectangular plug. Sounds like a flywheel swap is the next thing to try. Thanks for the help!

Anyone know what year the motor might be based on the stator wiring? My manual shows the round plug for 87ish but the guy I got it from on ebay said it's a 2004.

Can I tell from the motor serial numbers? I don't believe they are the same as the frame in terms of layout (10th or 11th digit being year)

Thanks all!

ok, any hints on removing the flywheel? I have the motion pro puller and I was cranking on the wrench with a 5ft pipe and it's still not budging. Actually looks like it might have started to mushroom the end of the crank. Any suggestions?

put the bolt back in the end of the crank shaft so your pushing on the end of the bolt instead of the end of the crank..

I was finally able to change the flywheel but still no spark. Any chance the old one ruined something? I'm not sure where to go from here. Any help is appreciated!
