i have a 1997 300 ex , ihave cleaned the carb ,changed the spark plug and checked the valves on it. it is not hitting the rev limiter it runs great at mid throttle. cuts out at full. any help on this would be much apprceiated!!!!!!!!!!!

 

hey try to adjust the carb.
when u cleaned the carb did u take out all of the seals and replace them cause one may be faulty.

 

if u put a pipe on and didnt jet thats ur problem,or ur main jet ccould be plugged

 

So you are saying it ran great all these years, but just started to cut out recently???

I would guess a partially clogged main jet or the float bowl is adjusted to high and is flooding it out.

It is no surprise that we see lots of posts in here saying, "I just cleaned the carb and it still doesn't run right". I don't think folks actually pay enought attention to the jets. Jets are cheapp, just replace them if it isn't possible to get them clean!

 

Thanks very much for all the replies, folks! i was actually asking for a friend, and I will print the thread and give it to him. Kinda seemed like a clog to me, too maybe.
