Default No electric....need help

I have a 1996 Polaris 425 4x4 with an electrical problem. I started it and turned on the headlight, and a couple seconds later the light went out. From then on, absolutely nothing electrical works;starter, headlights brake lights, ........nothing. There does not appear to be any main fuse. Any ideas on what could be causing this???? It will run if it is pull started.
Thanks

Check the circuit breaker back by the battery. If it goes, you lose everything. It's covered in plastic and the ends are melted together. You could also check for voltage at the terminal board instread of tearing the cover apart on the breaker. Remove the fuel tank cover and check for battery voltage on the red wires. Battery is good I assume? Ground connections are good?
