is rocks hitting the radiator a big problem?

should i get a radiator guard for it?

 

Its a very big problem! Rocks hitting the radiator smashes the cooling fins and prevents the radiator from being able to properly cool down in a timely manor. Sometimes a rock will actually put a hole in the damn thing too. A grille is a lot more inexpensive than buying a new radiator.

or is it just something that sometimes happens

 

too me it looks like rocks could hit it very easily
