Best spark plug?
#5
I guess its unanomous.
NGK is the best plug out there, I still have the original NGK spark plug in my 1987 suzuki sp200 dual sport, any other plugs I ran always made the machine run like sh*t, so I had to keep putting the old plug back in.

No flame intended but I have never understood why everyone seems to think NGK is so much better than other plugs.
IMHO I think any quility plug{Autolite,Champion,Delco{although I hate GM stuff} will do just as good as any other plug as long as you have the correct heat range. I have used champion in my 400 ever since I changed the orignal plug and I can tell absolutily no differance what so ever. The Champions cost a buck apeice compared to 3 or 4 dollars for the NGK and the performance is the same...atleast in my experiance.
Basicly a plug is just 2 electrodes through which a spark jumps. Most all name brand plugs have a copper core with steel electrode tips as does a NGK, so what makes a NGK so much better than the rest.
Try this...go buy a non NGK plug, but it in and tell me if you can feel a differance. I couldnt.

I like my NKG that I run. I know that there are now platinum tip spark plugs. Has anyone tried these spark plugs? I think that the platinum tip makes the spark hotter. This sounds like a good thing for a 2-stroke, Even though I have not had any problems with the regular NKG. Just wondering. Thanks.

I remember a post on a forum before, where I said as spark is a spark is a spark. I would stick with the NGK, same price a Champions, and be watchful of these special Platinum and fancy metal plugs, its called marketing. Stick with the basics, nothing will change in spark plug technology until fuel itself changes. Or heres a thought, I've got a set of Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word reinforced, reverse electroplated 5 electrode laser guided guaranteed to never-ever spark plugs, but they come in a beautiful locking vinyl case with the Polaris logo silk screened atop, with rechargeable interior black lights lined in actual faux monkey felt for 4 easy payments of 19.99, thats 4 easy payments of....stick with NGK.
