Default Marshin MH200 Tank

Let me start by saying that I bought this bike fram an e-Bay auction, and will probably regret it later. I think parts availability will be a problem. Most of the initial problems I have had stem from poor set-up at the dealer. 2 rear lugs had worked loose in the first 5 hours and I caught it just in time. Dealer did not Loctite the rear, but did the front. The only problem with the quad at this time is that I cannot get the carb air mix right and have to run it with slight choke which will probably foul plug at worst spot on the palnet for me. Anyone with any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I turned in the air flow screw 1 1/2 turns from setup, but had to back it out 1/2 from there because too rich, but still did not idle with choke off and missing at moderate RPM. Seems to have plenty of power, slightly rough ride for what I'll use it for mostly (utility work around the property and some flatland field and lane riding). Something to note, most of the lighting accessories and switches are pretty chintzy and the front turn signals both have already cracked mounts from the 5 hours of field and lane riding I have done. I plan to update this thread as time goes on and find this Forum very helpful. Again, any input (except chewing me out for buying a chinese quad from an e-bay auction ) is greatly appreciated.

I wanted to let you know to change all the oil out before you started using your 4X4. I read this is the first thing you want to do and glad I did. I found some metel flake looking stuff in the rear diff and side gear off the engine. The engine was pretty clean, but I did find some in there too. The oil in the engine, from what I read was just for shipping anyways. You will also want to take some break cleaner or starting fluid to the front break rotors and rear drum. I cleaned mine and now I can lock up the front and rear tires if I want. Also I did note on mine that the clutch cable bracket on the motor was allowing the cable to touch the exhaust pipe. I just bent it over slightly and all is fine. I have 26 miles on mine and it runs like a champ. I live at 3000 feet so it must be carbed for that altitude.
I am looking to put a winch on mine now.

George.

Weel George, glad to hear everything is working out great, makes me feel a little better. I didn't change the oil first thing, but will do it tomorrow or before I ride it again. Trans and differential, too? Take a look at your differential boot at the motor end. Mine came off. Put it back on with small ratchet and no problems yet. How do you feel your experience from ####### Powersports was. I have mixed emotions after the setup issues. Some glitches in freighting as well but got that worked out. Stay in touch and I will as well.

Denny,

I had a great experiance with the dealer. I called and talked to one of the salesmen many times and emailed them quite a bit. I got very quick replies and I feel honest answers to my questions. The only problem I had with shipping was that I had to pay $25.00 for a lift gate dilivery. You would think that for a resident delivery that that would be included. Like I have a fork lift sitting in my driveway!
I bought from them because they had a been a member of ebay for 10 years and had a great rating. I am now looking at buying a 250cc for the wife in the spring.

Also, I wanted to point out that the choke is "off" all the way to the right. It is kind of confusing the way they have it marked. Do not know if this may be the problem you are having or not. Took me a bit to figure out. Good luck and keep in touch.

Forgot to include above. Yes I changed the dif and side gear unit. I call it that because it converts the output of the engine to the rear shaft, also it has the reverse gear. I changed both just to make sure I had clean gear lube in there. I did find some flake in the gear lube. It is just a precaution. Most dealers change all the oils before they sell them, but we are buying these on a crate. Just like the dealers do. Let me know what you find out.

So the choke lever is all the way to the right for off and all the way to the left for on? Well if that's the way it works no wonder it wouldn't idle with it all the way to the left (off I thought). Also, I bet it runs full out better with it all the way to the right, now. Went back and reread the Ch-english in the owners file and found no reference to this. I will sure give it a try in the next couple of days. Also explains why it smelled rich with the choke "off". Back to the drawing board, now need to warm it up and reset the the air mix screw and it should be OK. Makes perfect sense buy the way it was running. Thanks for the Heads Up George, I appreciate that!

Glad it helped. Had me a bit stumped too. Another thing that is not explained well is the fuel shutoff switch. Looks to me that level to the ground is "off", down is "on" and up is "reserve". You can also soften the ride a bit with the special tool included by turning the bottom plate on the rear shock. I could turn mine down one click and it rides pretty good now. I thing once I get a winch and some gear on it it will smooth right out. I only weigh 135.
