In the market.........

Howdy! Well- like the summary of the topic says, I'm checkin' out the Grizzly 450 and hafta say it's the best thing out there as far as feature packed AND measurement wise LxWxH. I live in a tight woods, technical area and this is the quad! I'm also impressed with the weight. My only reservation is, I'd like to have FI- it's probably not that big of a deal really, but really for me it kinda is. So has anyone heard that for 2009 if we may get FI?
Thanks- this is a biggie for me being died in the wool Kawasaki fan, but this is what I want so I can make the switch. Also, any owners here like to share some of their experiences with the unit, where you've gone with it? To be honest with ya- I've never driven a CVT quad, what's it like..........
THanks again..............

Honestly, the FI isn't really a big deal with this quad. It's motor is rock solid and proven for many years. Unless you're going to be doing exhaust or engine mods, you probably will never have to get into the carb... (well I guess maybe you will if you drown her out...) From 95degrees plus down to -10... I've never had to rejet, and it always ran perfect. There's no word on FI for 09 that I've heard of so far... IMHO, the only reason they'd put it on is for more sales, because it's "trendy" now a days... I can see it for the bigger bore quads... but the smaller ones I just don't think it's as important...
The overall quad is great, and feels much more nimble than it's weight suggests. (only 7lbs lighter than the grizzly700) I've skipped thru several things that larger quads have gotten stuck in... The CVT works great. (as long as you keep water out of it... The belt lasts a long time...

I just bought a gizz 700, I know u are after a 450, but I also was very hesitant regarding CVT. Don't be. Yamaha has a great design. It does not feel like a big rubber-band winding up to sling shot you around the woods, its very smooth and the engine braking is superb. I know they are different quads but I thought I might throw that out there for ya

Yeah- I'm not afraid of CVT in tat regard, infact I look to need it for snow because ya loose too much momentum when whifting gears in snow. I've seen the KQ, 330- but it's too big for my area, the Grizz 450 is the perfect size- I almost think they built it just for me...............

I have the Grizzly 450.. and I simply LOVE IT! Great machine! I have taken it through some techincal 4x4 needed stuff, some good muck and all.. I have 500 miles on it now and it hasn't failed me yet! Fun machine, fits in the tight spots the big bores don't. One thing I wish it had a little more ground clearance.. My footwells are pretty beat up! haha.. but hey.. they are cheap only $16 each! Well part of that too is sometimes I am not as gentle as I should be! hehe The stock tires do pretty darn good too.. I will get some better meats once these wear and I have to use the winch more often than not... I think you will be quite happy with your purchase!
