Default 3 Wheeler Questions

Been riding my 185s for a few months and I feel like I got a pretty good feel for
it. My question is , can you jump a three wheeler and catch air? If yes, is it best
to land on two back wheels or all three at the same time. Or is it better to do that kind of thing on a
quad? I know it may sound like a dumb question , but like I said I only been riding
for about three months by myself. The thing feels really unstable sometimes. (may-be thats why they quit making them.) Thanks

you can jump any atv/atc if u want. i used to jump my atc250sx all the time. landing on all 3 wheeles felt smother than landing on the rear wheeles.

but the 185 has no suspension right? solid rear end whith no shocks. jumping that may be hard on the frame or land very hard and bend/brake somthing else.

Right on I get it man. Right after I posted that message I looked at some videos,
and all were jumping 250s or bigger. I'll probably give the 185s to my wife and
get something bigger later. Thanks for the advice!

You aren't going to break anything if you keep the trike wheels side down. THe problem you will have is that with no suspension, the machine will bounce all over the place if you hit anything big. Just keep the jumps on the smaller size and you won't have any problems.

If you do jump it make sure you dont have a excessive amount of air in your tires, ballon tires that are over inflated bounce like a basket ball. (not good for a safe landing) 185s is pretty heavy in the rear it would be hard not to land on the rear wheels first. Be carefull, of all the 3 wheelers and sport quads i have owned over the years my 185s and my 200x are the only two I ever got hurt on, because I didnt have enough respect for the smaller machines, now I do!

we used to run around on honda atc's all the time but there was only one guy that tried to take on the double and bounced and flipped it over. the landing was smooth until he bounced. those huge tires on there are not really good for jumping

Something else to watch for on the 185 is that because of the lack of suspension as pointed out above it is pretty hard on the frame. Ive seen several broken sets of forks off of these, usually breaks where the forks go through the frame (where the bearings are). Wouldn't recommend big air on this bike.
