Default Jumping ATV with truck battery

As the topic says, can you safely jump start an ATV with a truck? I wouldn't start the truck I would basically just hook up the jumper cables and start her up.

I currently do not have a battery on the ATV due to the battery box on my Honda Recon falling out. The old battery no longer is good as it has been sitting. I tried pull starting but since it hasn't been started in a while its being a pain...

positive to positive...neg to neg

any 12 volt battery will work..the bike will only draw what it needs..don't have anything on in the car though..the bike won't like that

Why dont you want to have the truck running? Whenever I jump another car I always have my truck running. Wouldnt it drain the trucks battery if its not running.

YOU CAN FRY EITHER ALTERNATOR...IT IS OK TO JUMP A CAR WITH YOURS RUNNING IF YOU LET YOUR CHARGE THE OTHER FOR A BIT..BUT IT IS BEST TO TURN YOUR OFF WHEN THEY GO TO START
