Default Power Tips for Stock Muffler

Will installing a Power Tip on a stock muffler make any power difference if used in conjunction with an performance air filter and jet kit? Or is it necessary to go with a performance muffler? If there's not much of a power difference, I'd prefer to save a couple hundred dollars. I'm just trying to get a little more power out of it without throwing a lot of money at it. I have a '06 Wolverine 450, so this is the wrong machine to build up as a racer!

I bought one of those power tips from 2rracing on ebay for my sons outlaw 90. It made a world of difference! It was also very well made. They have crazy fast shipping also. I emailed him asking for a tracking number after a couple days and that same day it came in the mail. I would totally recommend it. It looks good, sounds good, and made a noticable difference in performance.

I have done that also and it does seem to work! Makes you wonder if that expensive aftermarket pipe is worth it!

ON A TWO STROKE BETTER DESIGNS CAN CREATE A BETTER VACUMM EFFECT FOR BETTER FLOW...ON A FOURSTORE THE PISTON DOES MOST OF THE WORK...BUT LESS RESTRICTION HELPS JUST BY ITSELF...''

MOST OPEN IT UP TOO MUCH THEN COME HERE AND WONDER WHY IT BOGS ECT ECT

not enough back pressure and you may fry your exhaust valve

Just speaking from my experience, you can take out the stock spark arrestor,(thing inside the outlet on your muffler), and look inside and see how the exhaust flows through the muffler. If there is just a small pipe feeding through a piece of metal, you can drill through the metal and give the exhaust more space to come out. But I have never seen one on a wolverine. You don't want to make the hole to big, if it doesn't have enough back pressure it won't run right.

I bought the tip also from 2 r racing. I live in Ontario and shipping was fast. I put it on my 07 kodiak 450 because I also wanted to see if I could cheat the system and get a few more ponys without spending a couple of hundred bucks on an exhaust. I really works!!! It didn't make the bike into a rocket, but the sound difference really also gives the illusion of more power. I put a Big Gun on my previous bike and I really truly belive I got the same bang for about $620 less bucks. I liked it so much I bought one for my brother-in-laws 700 Grizzly. Also... with the money I saved I was able to lift and widen my Kodiak and still had money left over for the beer store eh?!
