2007 polaris scrambler
#1
I own two 2007 polaris scramblers and they both make a weird noise on the right sid crankcase cover where the pull start is. I was wondering if this is normal. Also these are my first quads and I was wondering what are some issues I need to look out for with these bikes.

There should be a grease zerk on the starter try greasing it. Did this noise just start?</end quote></div>
There is a grease fitting on the starter? What on a starter can be greased with a gun? Are you talking the pull starter or electric starter?
If the noise is a tapping sound its the oil pump, but it goes away above idle or should. Nothing to worry about.
If its a vibrating rattling sound than its the lose fitting Bendix drive in the pull start housing. That sound just comes and goes when ever its annoying but harmless.

I have a 2006 scrambler 500 H.0. That was making the same noise. Turns out there was a rock wedged between the crank case and frame of the quad. It was loud as hell, i thought the engine was going to blow but luckily it was just a rock.
