oil filter for 05 Kodiak
#1
The filter looks to be sitting to deep to get my hands on it. Seems like I'll need a socket wrench oil filter adaptor, are the adaptors available at auto part stores or do I have to get one from the dealer?
Thanks

Yep, they are available at auto parts stores. The filter is for a small v-6 cylinder mazda motor, and if you check out this cross reference guide, there are lots of choices. Its a very common motorcycle/atv filter. Just buy a filter and get the correct socket for the end, all at the same time, and then youll know itll fit. The correct filter for the yamaha, is the [5] at the bottom of the list.

I just stopped at the autoparts store and brought in my Yamaha filter. I picked up the filter wrench and while I was there I picked up an oil filter for my truck. Ding! The wrench fits both. Nice!
