Hey guys, my buddy has a 2006 Polaris 500 EFI Mossy oak that he needs to get rid of. It has 160 hours on it and is in perfect shape, winch included. What do you think it's worth? I've tried to find some other used ones to compare to but I can't find anything.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chumley

I wouldn't pay more than $5,000 for it. Considering he's your friend, he should make you a better deal on it than if he sold it to a stranger.

Sheep, I'm not really looking at buying, I'm just helping him figure out what it is worth. Besides that, I'm not the type of friend that thinks I should get it cheap just because I'm a buddy. If anything it would be worth more to me because I know exactly how well it has been taken care of. I certainly wouldnt expect a $500 discount for being a friend.

This wheeler is up for sale now, taking offers until I can talk to him and get him to decide on a final value. It will probably be put on atvtrader online in a week or so.

Thanks for the info guys.

take it to a dealer and see what they would give for it and add at least $1,500.00 and it will give you a starting point.

Chumley, Sorry, thought you were buying it. I guess I was speaking for myself......whenever I've sold something to a friend, I've always made them a great deal.

Stendori, our local dealer here is awful. I'm not a polaris guy but even if I was I wouldn't shop here. He's the guy that gets PISSED when you even shop out of town, and he'll tell you right to your face. It's ridiculous. Long service delays are very common if it didn't come from his shop.

No problem sheep. I made deals to a lot of my friends but when it comes to multi-thousand dollar purchases I don't see the point of throwing away $500 or more just because it's a friend. To me a friend is willing to pay what it is worth, knowing that he isn't going to get jipped.
