93 Trail boss 350L 4x4
#1
Sorry guys, I know this might have been answered already, But I am new this forum and I am trying to figure this bike out. I have a 93 trail boss 350L with 4x4 and they bypassed the oil pump by running a loop of tube from the oil pump down below to the line that is suppose to connect to carb. and blocked off the line from the resevoir. I believe the oil pump works though. Where does the line hook up to the carb at???? I was trying to see, but I am not sure where it is suppose to hook up at??? Any pics of what I am looking for?

the small oil pump hose comming from the pump goes to the black reed cage boot on the clutch side there should be a bolt hole about a 1/4 inch size you need the check valve and banjo bolt to hook it up tho i can't get the link to work but it looks like you need # 13, 14, and 12 heres the addy
click here and then go to sectoin crancase and cylinder the part numbers are on here

I just finished rebuilding my 350l I bought fot 100 bucks a few months ago. I also bypassed my oil pump because it caused the last pistion to burn up. I would suggest to do the same so you dont burn up your motor. Its alot eaiser to mix your gas then to assume the oil pump is working and have it fail on you. I just took the oil pump apart and took the gear off the oil pump shaft so it does not spin at all. My 350l runs great and I have no worries about it getting enough oil. Just my thoughts on it.

I just bought this one for 800 last night and it works great, besides the owner not taking care of it, like washing all the mud off and having no brakes. Found out the master cyclinder has a leak on it somewhere and drips oil on your foot off the handle bar. But anyways, J-ZUK can you show me some picks of how you eliminated the pump?? these people just ran a tube to the line that hooks into the carb and looped it back to the line that feeds into the pump from the reservoir. So I don't know if this is making me run rich or not???

The only tube going to the carb should be the gas feed tube. The really small tubes are just overflow tubes to let the extra gas flow to the ground. If you want to bypass the oil pump you do what i did, First I removed the oil tank, next I plugged the hole in the reed cage with a bolt and some thread sealer, You really dont need to take the oil pump apart but i was told that the gear on the oil pump shaft was plastic and it could posssibaly break and cause engine damage. When I took it out it was a steel gear so i would not worry about it. Either way its not that hard to do. I would just take the oil pump cover off and disconnet any hoses and cap them if you like. The throttle cable is split and goes to the oil pump and the carb I just cut the section that goes to the oil pump. But you can get a throttle cable for a 400 and its a single cable i think. I hope this helps you. I bought a chiltons book for my 350l this book is very usefull. Again if you dont uses the oil pump just empty the oil tank and remove the lines and plug the hole in the reed cage with a same thread bolt as the banjo. And mix your gas. I have been runnig 32:1 and the bike runs GREAT !!
