Whats the biggest polaris winch you can buy?

im not sure if the 4000 lb will fit on a sportsman as its made for a ranger.

 

Ya cause i can stall out my winch no problem pulling out another x2 in the slick stuff.

 

thats why you need to use a ****** block and double your pulling power.

 

where is the best place to buy a ****** block, and does it matter if the wire is all neat, or just wind it up and dont worry about it?

Wind your winch cable up as neat as you can. If you dont it can cause your cable to get tangled and stuck and will be a pain fixing.

i just bought a cheap one at a discount tool supply like for 10.00 wrapping the cable up neatly saves on the cable from being damaged by winding over each other and fraying or kinking the cable. when im done using the bike i always (if i went mudding) pull out the cable and wash it and wind it back up neatly and keep pressure on it to keep it wond tight.

 

When winding back it wouldn't hurt to put some kind of light grease
on the wire rope (be careful of your hands and fingers when applying
not to slice them, use nice thick leather gloves or something close)
to continue to keep free of corrosion. Tip given to me
and I have followed it...

my buddy's buddy has a 3000 lb on his 8-- sportsman. that's the biggest i have seen... well besides the 12000 lb one on my old jeep.

wd-40 work for coating the wire?
