Tires, rims... one of the best upgrades from the stock onion skins the give you. Depending how and where you ride you might want to lift or widen that bad boy. Buy yourself some sort of storrage box, be it a rear seat combo or just a box but you'd be surprised how much usefull stuff fits in there. A clutch kit changes the engagement point of the belt to give you more torque. Even a better air filter than the stock one like a K&N will give you a noticable boost in power. You should check out the thread on the "power tip" for exhausts, it's in the Yamaha forum.

as GI said,
pipe, air filter and a jet kit will give you a big difference in power. A clutch kit helps out a lot on the low end power, or check out hauck racing. They will machine your factory clutch to provide better power at a lower price.

Keep in mind as I do also, it is and always will be a 350 cc just like mine will always be a 450. We aren't ridin' big bore bikes and inturn will never be log stompin' rockets. But we do have nimble machines and have chosen these bikes due to size, price, features and quality. Enjoy dressin' her up. It's useually the funnest part.

I also found the stock tires to have weak side walls.

well in that case i will be keeping an eye on them when i decide to go back to the riding trails.
the trail i take to the mud hole is insane.
the trail has a freaking huge revene from all the dirt bikers right down the middle and you have to straddle it without falling into a hole that will flip the quad.

Mostly I wouldn't worry about the sidewalls in the ravine... I noticed that at higher speeds like 80 Kms on hard pack roads when turning the bike felt like it had a lot of understeer. Like it was pushin' in the corners instead of turning out of them.
