Default Oil and Oil Filters

I have a 2004 Sportsman 700 and a 2005 Trailblazer 330. I am looking for alternative sources for air and oil filters. The oil change kit form the dealer costs about $23 and I believe I can do better by using Mobil 1 0W40 synthetic and a filter purchased separately. Any help and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I use Mobil 1 synthetic with a Napa Gold filter. I believe it comes to about $17-$18.

I use Amsoil FFS 0W40 and Purolator filter. Mobil 1 is an excellent choice as well. The Purolator filter I use for my 800 is PL14610, you might be able to use it for your 700.

ADDED:

I just did a search for "Purolator" and "filter" and found quite a few threads with great information in them. Give that a try, there were too many for me to make a link for each one.

No more often than you need to service an ATV it is best to stay with the recommended fluids.aka Polaris oils

I would have to agree with ftwflh.
How often do you change your oil?, me, not often ,i do use synthetic oil.
I was at the dealer last week getting an air filter and asked about motor oil. I usually won't buy into dealer belloney about buying Polaris OEM parts.
For a few bucks a year more I'll use polaris oil and filters.
Changing oil on the thing is a pain in the ****. I need to drop the plow mount and getting the drain plug started tough. I think they could have found a better spot for it.
