Nerf Bars LT 80
#1
I have a LT 80 that we just install DG Nerf Bars on and found that when we turn the wheel sharp the wheels hit the nerf bars. any suggestions We have stock tires and rims with 2.5 inch wheel spacers.

I had the same problem... I have an LT with 3" wider a-arms and 1" spacers (4" ttl) and when I put 18" fronts it rubbed when turning... We ended up going back to the 16" holeshots and retired the ATV... The only way I can see to fix it is to get to re-work the nerfs to get clearance...
Stablize: Use James Lucky "Front" extention kit. Look in dirtwheels mag...
IT makes a big difference as the LT front end is way to narrow stock.

That's a good kit.
FYI: it lowers the machine about an inch.
Rudedog, did you try the a-arms with no spacers?

Hi Jack, it's been a while... I still have the ole race LT, but it just sits as my son out grew it and has moved on up to bigger quads (240 Blasters & 450's). . ... As it was a ground up labor of love that came out incredible, I couldn't bare to sell it @ a cheap price just to be rid of it. In addition I've got a ton of dough in it too. Anyway I was thinking of selling the race motor and putiing it back to more of a stock condition and then using it as a pit cruiser. If you rember, my son started on it TT racing @ Northern & Central calif tracks with the Lt years ago. We had you do a cylinder and the clutches. We continued to modify it (heavily) until it was pretty outa hand and then he grew out of it. As you mentioned, I'm going to take off the spacers and see how it works... And then hopefully find time to de-tune it and possibly get some use out of it..
